Why is this always the hardest part of writing? I can never think of what to say about myself. It ends up looking stark and clinical…like a tombstone.

Here goes:

* Founder of Equicaching, LLC and Equicache, LLC.

• A frequent contributor to Rural Heritage Magazine, Equus and other horse related publications. • Illustrated several books on animal care, including “The Draft Horse Owners Manual”, “The Complete Guide to Raising Chickens”, “The Ox Drovers Manual”, “A Complete Guide to Endurance Riding and Competition”, “The All Around Horse and Rider” and “101 Dressage Exercises”, and “Oxen, a Teamsters Guide,” and the upcoming “Draft Horse Guide” by Storey Publications.

I have pretty much given up on submitting to, or attending art shows. Been there, done that. I feel like it is a good exercise in spending money to have people tell you their opinions. Most people are quite happy to do that for free. If they are good opinions, it is money well spent. For the most part it is just an opinion, like “I don’t like pepper on my food.” The real judging happens when someone wants to spend THEIR money on owning something you made. Even if that does not happen, if I am happy with what I have created, that is reason enough for doing it.
